Biographical notes:

Henryk Opieński was a Polish composer, conductor, and musicologist. He studied with the finest tutors in Prague, Paris, Berlin, and Leipzig. He became conductor of the Warsaw Orchestra, and founded the first Polish musicological periodical. He lived and worked throughout Europe, chiefly in Switzerland, organizing concerts, lecturing, and conducting. His compositions are considered technically adept, but somewhat impersonal.

From the description of Henryk Opieński letter to Edith Hipkins, 1937 Jan. 8. (Pennsylvania State University Libraries). WorldCat record id: 62171660
