Biographical notes:
The company, located in Lowell, Mass., manufactured cotton knitted goods, wool and blended yarn for knitters and weavers, worsted and blended fabrics for men's wear and uniforms, plain jersey and fancy knit fabrics for dresses and suits, and woolen spun fabrics for women's clothing. The company was formed in 1955 by the merger of the Lawrence Manufacturing Co. and the Ames Worsted Co.
