Biographical notes:

The Mesa Chamber of Commerce (MCC) began as an outcome of a 1915 gathering of Mesa's leading citizens who wanted to build a stronger community spirit. It was originally known as the Mesa Commercial Club, a civil institution involved in community issues, projects and programs. The MCC was established as a private, non-profit organization of the business community, uniting local business and professional firms. The Chamber has provided various community services including city promotion, tourism marketing, legislative liaison, and taking a leading role in major civic improvements. The Chamber has worked with the business community and city government on industrial and economic development. It organized various gatherings such as quarterly luncheons, annual banquets, and Mesa Speaks town forums at which ideas were exchanged and plans formulated to improve community life and business. The Chamber produced various publications and brochures about Mesa and its attractions. The Chamber is still a major force in Mesa business and community life. Its present focus is to act as a unique central clearing house with the purpose of improving business and the business environment, and building a better community.
