Biographical notes:
Spartan McCain Shuler, Confederate soldier, was a member of the 6th South Carolina Infantry Regiment, Company G.
One brother, Harrison A. Shuler, fought with the 3rd Battalion of the South Carolina Cavalry, Company D. Another brother, Alfred Shuler, served with the 1st Regiment of the South Carolina Militia.
