Biographical notes:
The University Club was founded in 1933 as an organization of members of the senior class who wanted to promote spirit and sportsmanship, improve inter-school relations, interest prospective students in the University, improve relations with alumni, promote freshman orientation, and foster statewide interest in the University and its activities.

- 1. to promote and retain a high enthusiasm and a high spirit of sportsmanship in all university events and contests;
- 2. to entertain all visiting inter-collegiate and high school and preparatory school teams;
- 3. to promote activities and sponsor programs to interest prospective students in the university;
- 4. to be active in campus affairs and present itself for service wherever such service would be in the interest of the student body or the university;
- 5. to cooperate with all campus organizations for the promotion of the welfare of the university;
- 6. to improve inter-school relations;
- 7. to continue and improve active mutual relations with the alumni;
- 8. to promote freshmen orientation; and
- 9. to foster statewide interest in the University and its activities.
During the 1950s, the club assumed responsibility for the annual Campus Carnival and Homecoming celebrations.
