Biographical notes:

Eugene Feldman lived in Jacksonville, Fla. before moving with his parents, Samuel and Olga, to Montgomery, Ala. in 1939. His father opened a grocery store with Eugene as an assistant. He remained in Montgomery until 1950, not to return until 1968. In 1975 he was on the educational staff of the Dusable Museum in Chicago. He has done some publishing and writing, mainly on James T. Rapier,the 19th century black Ala. Legislator and U.S. tax collector.
