Benjamin Casey Allin, III, Port engineer, U.S. Army Colonel who served in both world wars, and Chicago native. Married Dorothy May Newell in 1913; authored an autobiography, Reaching for the sea (Boston: Meador Publishing Co., (c. 1956)), and several other works; and died at Berkeley, California, where he had resided for 14 years.
