Moulton, Oliver H.

Biographical notes:

Oliver Moulton (1829-1907) was born in Dover, N.H. After the death of his father, the family moved to Saco, Me., and Moulton began his career in the textile industry at the Pepperell Manufacturing Co., Biddeford, Me. He moved to Lawrence, Mass., to be the overseer of the Pemberton Mills, 1854-1859, and then became superintendent of the Amoskeag mills in Manchester, N.H., 1859-1864. Finally he became the agent and general manager, 1864-1905, of the Hamilton Manufacturing Co., a cotton manufacturer and print works in Lowell, Mass. He married Miranda Olive Jordan (1835-1895) of Saco, Me.; they had two children, Julia May Leonard Moulton (1863-1962) and Alice Maud Moulton (1867-1956). Julia Moulton married Austin K. Chadwick and Alice Moulton married Henry Bartlett.
