Biographical notes:

Anna K.G. Widtsoe and her sister, Petroline Gaarden, were converted to the Church in Norway and emigrated to Utah in 1883, bringing with them Anna's two sons, John A. and Osborne. The family resided in Logan, Utah, until 1898, when Anna and Petroline moved to Salt Lake City, where they spent the balance of their lives, except for the time they served in the Scandinavian Mission. Anna Widtsoe was a longtime member of the Utah Women's Press Club and wrote and published both poetry and prose.
