Biographical notes:
Lucile Ruby Woodard was raised on a farm in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She graduated from William Penn College and the University of Iowa. Woodard was program director of Louisiana State University's thousand-watt radio station (1947-1957) and also taught in the Speech Department. She was involved with several organizations and committees seeking to bring educational television to Louisiana from the early 1950s through the 1970s. She later worked for Louisiana Public Broadcasting after it began broadcasting in 1975.
