Biographical notes:

The Michigan Bankers Association was established on Oct. 26, 1887. It's first officers were Perry Hannah (President, Traverse City), Albert Ives (1st Vice President, Detroit), Wellington R. Burt (2nd Vice President, Saginaw), F.W. Hayes (Treasurer, Detroit), and Silas B. Coleman (Treasurer, Detroit). The Association is a professional association representing Michigan banks in state and governmental affairs. Its membership includes bankers from all over the state. For additional information, see A history of Michigan banking, by T. Harry Gatton, which was published by the Michigan Bankers Association in 1987 (centennial publication).
