Biographical notes:

Local 7 is the bargaining agent for workers in the Chrysler Jefferson Auto Plant in Detroit. Formed when the membership of the UAW and Automobile Industrial Workers Association (AIWA) affiliated in 1936 and received formal recognition after the five-week sit-down strike in 1937.
