Maurice Franklin Weisner was born November 20, 1917, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1941, and advanced to the rank of admiral in 1972. He was Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet from 1973 to 1976.
