Blacksher, Meneffe, & Stein (Firm)
Biographical notes:
Gill v. International Paper Company was subsequently attached to Jessie Stevenson v. IP and became part of a class action settled in 1978. This suit ultimately helped hundreds of IP employees who claimed IP violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, particularly in wages and hiring. Litigation also involved United Paperworkers International Union in area 5 and 6. Horace Gill was an employee in IP's bag production division. Other members of the "affected class" of employees included production workers, janitors, porters and general service technicians.
