In 1911, the United States Land Office in Carson City, Nevada sought to settle a land dispute with A. E. Humphreys, a Goldfield, Nevada mine owner. The dispute involved the Overland, Stonewall, Butte and Slim Jim lode claims and Columbus Lode No. 2.
