Missionary, teacher, surveyor; born Robert Dean Carlson on July 2, 1928 to missionary parents in Tibet; graduated from Wheaton College, 1951; married Margaret J. Larson, 1952; received master's degree from Wheaton College Graduate School, 1957; taught Greek and Bible courses at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Seminary in Hong Kong, 1960-1968; returned to Wheaton and became chief surveyor for a land surveying and civil engineering firm, 1968-
