Washington Infantry (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
Biographical notes:
The Washington Infantry was founded in 1792 as the first independent militia west of the Alleghenies. The infantry fought as a company and enlisted soldiers for every war in which the United States fought from the War of 1812 until World War I.
