Biographical notes:

Ernest Heppner was born in Germany of Jewish descent. While in his late teens in 1939, he and his mother fled Germany and went to the Shanghai Ghetto in China where they remained until they were liberated by U.S. troops at the end of WWII. In 1947, he came to the U.S. and in 1954 settled in Indianapolis, Indiana. He made speeches, gave lectures and wrote articles on the Holocaust, extremism, and racism. He was active in the Anti-Defamation League and the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council. He died in 2004.
