Makefield Monthly Meeting was established in 1820 by Bucks Quarterly Meeting out of Falls Monthly Meeting. At the time of the Hicksite Separation of 1827, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Makefield Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued later in 1827, and its members were attached to Falls Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). Makefield Monthly Meeting (Hicksite), which reunited with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Orthodox) in 1955, was the forerunner of the current Makefield Monthly Meeting.

Makefield Monthly Meeting was established in 1820 by Bucks Quarterly Meeting out of Falls Monthly Meeting. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Makefield Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued later in 1827, and its members were attached to Falls Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). Makefield Monthly Meeting (Hicksite), which reunited with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Orthodox) in 1955, was the forerunner of the current Makefield Monthly Meeting.

Newtown Preparative Meeting was established in 1817 by Bucks Quarterly Meeting under Wrightstown Monthly Meeting. It was transferred to Makefield Monthly Meeting in 1820. In 1827, at the time of the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, Newtown Preparative Meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. The Orthodox branch merged with the Orthodox branch of Makefield Preparative Meeting to form Makefield and Newtown Preparative Meeting. This meeting was discontinued later in 1827. Newtown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) became part of Newtown Monthly Meeting in 1926. It was merged into the monthly meeting in 1940.
