Harned, Lewis B., 1924-
Biographical notes:
Harned (b. August 17, 1924) served with the American Field Service as an ambulance driver in the 485th Ambulance Company attached to the 78th Division, 8th British Army during World War II.
He earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University Hospital (Pennsylvania) in 1951 and, from 1953 to 1955, he served as a surgeon at the 2791st Air Force Hospital in Ogden (Utah). Harned also served as commander of the 13th Evacuation Hospital, Wisconsin Army National Guard and was deployed to Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War. He retired in 1992 at the rank of brigadier general and resides in Madison (Wisconsin).
