Biographical notes:

Full name: Vaclav Vaclavovič Vorovskij; born in Moscow 1871, died in Lausanne 1923; Soviet literary figure and diplomat; joined the Bolshevik faction of the Rossijskaja Social-Demokraticeskaja Rabočaja Partija (RSDRP) in 1903; appointed Bolshevik representative to the Scandinavian countries in 1917, and to Italy in 1921; took part in the International Economic Conference in Genoa in 1922; murdered in 1923 by Maurice Conradi, a Russian emigré of Swiss descent, during the conference of the USSR and the Western powers in Lausanne on the Turkish question.
