Biographical notes:

Biographical note: Tucson pioneer; Ramon Romero, the earliest person included in the Romero family genealogy, was born in Mexico between 1804 and 1811. He married his wife, Josefa Salazar, in 1840. Together they had four children, all born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. They moved to Tucson, Arizona sometime between 1856 and 1864, becoming one of the pioneer families of Tucson. The historic Romero house in downtown Tucson was their home. Ramon died between 1871 and 1875, and subsequent generations of his family were born and raised in Tucson and Florence. Members of the Romero family, including Higinio R. Romero, Maria del Refugio Romero, Reinaldo Romero, Alberto Romero, and Feliciano Romero, owned ranches, ran grocery stores, and worked for the railroad in Southern Arizona.
