Biographical notes:

Country performer. Born September 26, 1925. Died December 8, 1982. Real name: Martin David Robinson. Legendary singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Longtime Grand Ole Opry star. Achieved hits on the Billboard charts every year from 1952-1983. His songwriting credits include the Grammy Award winning songs "El Paso," and "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife." Member, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Member, Country Music Hall of Fame.
