Biographical Note
Byron S. Miller, was born in Gary, Indiana, in 1915, and raised in Indiana and New York. The son of immigrants from Russia and Germany, he obtained a bachelor's and a law degree from the University of Chicago. He worked in the Office of War Mobilization and Conversion during World War II, and in 1945-1946 helped write legislation that created the Atomic Energy Commission. He later became an attorney for the American Jewish Congress in Chicago and was managing partner at the law firm of D'Ancona & Pflaum, specializing in estate planning and tax law in Chicago. He died March 3, 2003, in La Jolla, California.
