Biographical notes:

Virginia Revolutionary War colonel who died May 8, 1780, of wounds received during the siege of Charleston.

Appointed colonel of the 1st Virginia Regiment (Continental Line) in 1778, Parker moved his troops south to Augusta, Ga., the following summer, where they defended the Georgia frontier under the command of Maj. Gen. Benjamin Lincoln.
