Pessa Polasky Kandinoff in Cincinnati, 1934

Pessa Polasky Kandinoff was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, 1909. B.S., 1931 and M.A. in Psychology, 1932 from University of Cincinnati; received additional training at New York School of Social Work. Caseworker for Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Aid to Dependent Children in Cincinnati, 1935-41, and for the Ohio State Department of Public Welfare, 1941-44. Welfare officer for refugee camps in Italy and Palestine, run by the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, primarily for Greek and Yugoslav refugees. Psychiatric social worker, Longview State Hospital, Cincinnati, then at Cincinnati General Hospital, 1951-57. Taught psychiatric social work, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, 1957-71. Retired early 70s and moved to Israel. Died 1994.
