Jon Silkin was a British poet who authored and edited many volumes of poetry. His Selected Poems were published in 1980 and in a revised edition, 1994. He was founding co-editor of Stand (1952-1997). He was a teacher of English for foreign students at the University of Leeds, England. Silkin was a Gregory Fellow in poetry. (Source: Contemporary Authors Online, Gale, 2003.
