Delbanco is an American author and poet.

Author (b. London, England) of over twenty-four books, professor, editor of selected works of John Gardner and Bernard Malamud. Has served as Director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing and as Robert Frost Collegiate Professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan. Also served as Director and Chair of the Avery Hopwood and Jule Hopwood Awards Program.
