Biographical notes:
Frederick (Fred) Hugh Dressler of the Carson Valley of Nevada, 1898-1996, was a cattleman and dairy rancher in the Carson Valley, Smith Valley, and Mason Valley areas of Nevada and portions of eastern central California. He inherited and/or purchased much of the vast business and land holdings of his father, William Frederick Dressler. Fred was secretary of the West Fork Water Association and West Fork Farmers' Union, on the local school board for 25 years, president of the National Cattleman's Association, member of the Nevada State Board of Agriculture, and an inductee in the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. He served on the boards of the Carson City Chapter of the American National Red Cross and Carson City Troop no. 1 of the Boy Scouts of America.
