Alan L. McLeod, professor of literature at Rider University, New Jersey, as well as a literary critic and editor of several volumes. McLeod researched and wrote about the life and work of Jamaican born, Harlem Renaissance writer Claude McKay from 1971-1992. His work on McKay includes editing The Negroes in America (1979), a work by McKay.
