Biographical notes:
(For history of the Lutheran Council in the USA (LCUSA), see OCLC #38922091.) The Division of Service to Military Personnel sought to coordinate the efforts of its participating church bodies in ministering to men and women in the military. The Lutheran Service Center in Guam was opened in 1966 by the NLC's Lutheran Service Commission. The LCUSA took over its operation in 1967. The Lutheran Church of Guam was organized in 1969 and held services in the Center. The LCUSA was terminated in 1987 at the founding of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
