Morgan, Bernard Stanley, 1904-

Dates:
Birth 1904

Biographical notes:

Biographical note: Bernard Stanley (Bert) Morgan, born in Lancaster, England, came to the United States with his family in 1911. From 1922 to 1930, he was employed by the Daily News Pacific and Atlantic Photos service, a syndicate which sold photographs to newspaper editors. In 1930, he left this company to form his own agency, the Morgan Photo Service, specializing in horse race and society photography. Around 1944, he was also employed by the New York Racing Association as official photographer for thoroughbred and hunt races in that state. From 1930 to 1961, Morgan covered racing events at New York and other major eastern tracks and wintered in Palm Beach, Florida. His presence on the racing circuit gave him many opportunities to photograph prominent personalities at racing meets and social events.

From the description of Photographic negative collection, 1935-1961. (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 191915752
