The First Methodist Episcopal Church was established in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1827 as the First Methodist Episcopal Society. The congregation met in private homes until a church building was erected at the corner of St. Clair and Wood (now East 3rd) Street. The church relocated in 1905 to 3000 Euclid Avenue.
