Represented in the collection are Archibald Eppes (d. 1820), merchant of City Point (now Hopewell) and Prince George County, Va.; William Gilliam (d. 1842), merchant of City Point; Benjamin Cocke (1781- 1836), merchant and landowner of City Point; Mary (Eppes) Cocke (17-83- 1844), of City Point, Va.; Richard Eppes (1824-1896), physician and landowner of City Point, Va., and Prince George and Charles City counties, Va.; Elizabeth Welsh (Horner) Eppes (1832-1905), wife of Richard Eppes; and Josephine Dulles Eppes (1855-1920), daughter of Richard Eppes.
