Biographical notes:

Gilbert V. Levin attended The Johns Hopkins University beginning in 1941.

His studies were interrupted in 1944 when he joined the US Maritime Service. In 1947 Levin returned to Hopkins where he obtained his B.E. in Civil Engineering in 1947 and his M.S. in Sanitary Engineering in 1948.

Levin went on to found the company, Spherix, worked on experiments with the Viking program, and invent tagatose.
