The U.S. Schooner Falcon, originally the Mexican gunboat Isabel, was captured at the Port of Tampico, Mexico, on November 14, 1846. The Falcon operated as part of the United States's home squadron in the Gulf of Mexico until the end of the Mexican War. Under the command of Lieutenant John J. Glasson, the Falcon took part in a successful amphibious operation at Vera Cruz from March 9 to March 25, 1847, then served on guard and patrol duty off the Mexican coast. The ship was decommissioned 1848 Sep 4, and sold 1848 Oct 18.
