Physicist (nuclear physics, high energy astrophysics).
Greisen was a staff member, Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (1943-1946); faculty, Cornell University, Physics Dept. from 1946, chairman of Astronomy Dept. from 1976, and Dean of the Faculty from 1978.
