Composed 1831. Probable first performance Economy, Pennsylvania, Harmony Society Orchestra, Johann Christoph Mueller probably conductor. Dedication: "Composed and arranged and dedicated to the Economy Band by their friend Mr. William C. Peters." Economy, Pennsylvania, founded by the Harmony Society as a commune, was near the modern town of Ambridge.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
