Denham, Claude Spaulding, 1904-1981.
Biographical notes:
Born Jan. 22, 1904, in Floydada, Texas, the son of an area rancher. Attended Texas A&M, Hardin-Simmons University and Texas Technological College, where he received his BA in Education in 1926. Taught in rural schools in Crosby County and Ozona, in Crockett County, where he taught history, coached basketball and became superintendent of the Ozona Public Schools. Married Pauline Maddox in 1930. Retired in Lubbock to look after their ranch properties. Published several articles on area history and was a charter member of the Ranching Heritage Association, where he remained active. Died on Feb. 28, 1981. Mrs. Denham died on Dec. 18, 1984.
