Rogers, Emma Savage, 1824-1911
Biographical notes:
Emma Savage, 12 years old in 1836, attended Bronson Alcott's Temple School in Boston, Mass. She later married William B. Rogers, founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and was the editor of his Life and letters.
The journal was taken on a visit to England by Bronson Alcott and presented to a schoolmaster Henry G. Wright who was a follower of his methods.
