Biographical notes:
Allison Kent Thomas commanded an Office of Strategic Services group that parachuted into Vietnam in 1945 to train the Vietnamese resistance, led by Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap, against the Japanese.
He received an A.B. in 1935 and a J.D. in 1939 from the University of Michigan. Thomas later practiced law in East Lansing, Michigan. In 1990 and 1995 he again visited Vietnam as part of the U.S.-Indochina Reconciliation Project.
