Du Pont Viscoloid Company.
Biographical notes:
In September 1915 E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company purchased the Arlington Company of Newark, N.J., which at the time was one of the largest manufacturers of plastics in the United States. Ten years later it acquired the Viscoloid Company of Leominster, Massachusetts, merging these two firms in order to form the Du Pont Viscoloid Company, which operated as a 100% owned subsidiary until 1936, when as part of a company-wide reorganization it became the core of the newly established Plastics Department.
