Biographical notes:

Author of novels for young adults, based on her life growing up in the frontier army and as ranch woman married into the family of the largest ranch in southern Arizona. Her father, Charles L. Cooper was officer in the 10th U.S. Cavalry, one of two regiments of black troops, known as the Buffalo Soldiers, commanded by white officers.
