Wisconsin Bureau of Civil Defense
Biographical notes:
Chapter 628, Laws of 1959, placed the former Office of Civil Defense (WIHV86-A1719) within the Executive Office as the Bureau of Civil Defense. In 1967, the Bureau was incorporated into the Department of Local Affairs and Development (WIHV86-A1748) as the Division of Emergency Government (WIHV86-A1722).
The bureau was responsible for coordinating state and local plans for dealing with natural or man-made disasters.
