Orlin Kenyon Fletcher (1873-1937) was born to Carlos E. and Mercelia Fletcher in Hinesburg, Vermont on July 20, 1873. He served in the Spanish American War. On December 4, 1904, he married Mary Louise Heckle in Augusta, Georgia. The couple had three children together: Mary, George, and Orlin Jr. Fletcher attended the Atlanta Dental College from 1905-1908, and he set up a dental practice in Augusta, Georgia. He died on November 26, 1937.
The Atlanta Dental College opened in 1893 as a branch of the dental department of Southern Medical College. The Atlanta Dental College was located initially on Whitehall Street and later moved to the corner of Marietta and Forsyth Streets and then to the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Ivey Street. In 1917, Atlanta Dental College and Southern Dental College merged to form the Atlanta Southern Dental College
