The Tri-State Tobacco Growers Association was a cooperative association of tobacco growers in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Officers of the association included M. O. Wilson, of Raleigh, N.C.; L. E. Rogers; E. G. Moss; and Sydney D. Frissell.
Sydney D. Frissell was for a time the association's publicity director. While a graduate student in rural social economics at the University of North Carolina, Frissell conducted a study on cooperative marketing.
