Biographical notes:
Dixon served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Theater during World War II from 1945-1946 as a nurse in the Navy Medical Corps achieving the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade (LtJG), the equivalent of U.S. Army/Air Force/Marines 1st LT.
