Biographical notes:
Born in Lafayette, Ind. As a young man, worked in Canada and took correspondence courses. Returned to the U.S. and worked in advertising. Served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Formed his own outdoor advertising company in Newark, Ohio, in 1946, and ran it with his wife until their retirement in 1967.
