Henry Bacon (1822-1891) was a civil engineer, railroad executive, and stock broker. Bacon was born in Natick, Mass., but lived at Smithville and Wilmington, N.C., 1867-1891, while working with the United States government engineers in connection with river, port, and coastal facilities. His son, Henry Bacon Jr. (1866-1924), was an architect. His daughter Katherine married William Berry McKoy.
William Berry McKoy (1852-1928) of Wilmington, N.C., was a lawyer and political leader. McKoy conducted extensive genealogical and historical research in connection with his family and the lower Cape Fear valley region of North Carolina. His parents were William H. McKoy and Francenia Eliza Berry McKoy. His paternal grandparents were William and Anne Hall McKoy; and his maternal grandparents were William Augustus Berry (1804-1875) and Eliza Anne Usher Berry. William Berry McKoy and Katherine Bacon McKoy had a son, Henry Bacon McKoy.
