Biographical notes:
UAW Region 9A has remained essentially unchanged since its formation in 1942, having jurisdiction over locals in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut the eastern part of New York and Puerto Rico. Charles Kerrigan, its first director (1942-1970), emerged from the region's largest local, amalgamated Local 365 out of Long Island, New York.
Kerrigan was succeeded as regional director by Anthony DeLorenzo (1970-1977), Don Ephlin (1977-1980), and E.W. "Ted" Barrett (1980-1986).
